No1 MOGUL
This Engine, which is currently under construction,
was started by Sid Beacon in 1960 and has been an on-off project ever since.
At the moment it is at the completed rolling chassis stage with all valve
gear, drain cocks etc fitted and all the Castings and metalwork fabricated
for the tender ready for construction
No 2 Robin freelance 4-4-0 1930
This Engine originally
started life as two engines, ‘Helen’ a SR Style 4-4-0 and ‘Robin’ a
Freelance 0-4-4T. It was built into its present form in 1957 by Sidney K.
Beacon and ran from 1958 – 1960 on a local private railway. From 1961 until
Mr Beacons death, it was shown at various Fete’s & Fairs, Sittingbourne &
Kemsley Railway open days & County Shows at Detling. It was purchased in
1984 by Mr B.S. Jones and was substantially refurbished before running on a
railway at Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey between 1985 -1986, and then our
previous Railway at Norton Crossroads from 1992 until its closure in 2000.
This engine is now privately owned and sees occasional use on very special
occasions.

No 3 BERITE 4-4wBE 1990
This engine is
a battery electric locomotive built by Tom Smith in 1990 for Cromer White
Ltd, as a prototype 7 ¼” gauge commercial engine. It was purchased from
Cromer White in 1992 and was re-gauged by them before collection. It is
fitted with a 3 HP Shunt motor and runs on 4 heavy duty 6v 240AH traction
batteries.

4 - Hymek 4w-4PH 1974
This engine was built in 1974 by Cromer
White as a petrol mechanical locomotive for the 9 ½” railway at Burton
Constable Hall in Humberside; it was in use here for about 8 years
before it was put into store for a further 9 years. It was then sold to
the railway at Whitworth Hall in County Durham, where it was re-engined
by Pfierfabahn in 1991 with a 5 HP Honda petrol engine with Hydraulic
drive. It was used for the 1992 season and was then put up for sale. It
was purchased at the beginning of 1993. Since then it has been
re-gauged, re-wired and tweaked here and there to keep it in perfect
running order.

No. 5. Red 0-4-0 Diesel Shunter.1990
This engine was originally built for the 7 ¼” Pulborough Garden Centre
railway by Iron Horse in 1990, and was purchased in 1998. Since then it has
been re-gauged and is used on engineering trains and relief passenger trains

No. 6. Narrow Gauge 0-4-0 PH.
This engine started life as a small 10 ¼” diesel Shunter
built by Pfierfabahn for the Birchley Railway in Biddenden, Kent. Since
its arrival it has been re-gauged and rebuilt into its present form as a
representative narrow gauge loco

14 - Blue class 20 'Lady Fiona' 4w-4PH
1988
NO14 "LADY FIONA" Is based on a British Rail Class
20.It was built by the Late Peter Howard and Crowhurst Engineering in 1988
as a 4-4wpm with a Reliant engine. About 1991 it was rebuilt to a PH with a
Honda engine. which it has now. both bogies are driven. It only run at Peter
Howard's garden railway be for coming to the FMR
